Hi Keven,
Email for Andrew:
Hi Andrew,
Please find the answers below each of the questions:
1. Are they actually dynamic urls on our pages? The string at the end does not appear in the serps, this comes a second or two after you click on it and is a tracking code.
We believe there is a little confusion here. By dynamic URLs, we did not mean the '#xxxxx' part that gets appended to the URL after it is being loaded; you had told us once that it is for internal tracking purposes.
In our last email, we were referring to the speaker search result pages (ex. https://www.jla.co.uk/search-results/after-dinner-speakers?c=15) as dynamic URLs. These pages could be used as the SEO landing pages given their URLs are made SEO-friendly, they are given proper heading (h1) at top of page and are added with some good content above the speakers' listing.
2. If we are going to put more text at the top of landing pages, how long should it be? Is there advice on keyword frequency?
Google doesn't have any specific guidelines regarding 'optimum content length' & 'keyword frequency'. Though if we look at the pages ranking on top, we can say that a word count of around 300-400 words would be sufficient with no more than 2% of the targeted keyword's density.
Along with the targeted keyword's usage in the content, we should also include semantic keywords (words have indirect relevancy with the target keyword) to enrich our content. Below are some examples of the semantic keywords that could be considered for 'motivational speakers' landing page:

- motivational keynote speakers
- motivational keynote speech
- Motivation
- Inspirational
- inspire an audience
- speaker for your event
- bear grylls
- achieve goals
Furthermore, the key here is to analyze the content of top ranking websites for any given keyword and to create a content better version than theirs.
3. Is the text on the homepage banner being read? I think it is. Shall we extend the text there?
The text on the homepage banner of JLA website is present in the HTML source as well in text format (means the text is not a part of the image/banner itself) and hence it's readable by Google.
We don't think there is a need to extending this content. Though, we can put internal links to the other important pages from this text, as shown below:
"JLA is the UK's biggest specialist agency for keynote, motivational and after dinner speakers, conference presenters, awards hosts and cabaret for corporate, industry and public sector events."
4. If we are to do a program of internal linking, should this be on every artist page? Are there any guidelines here?
The only guideline available for internal linking it that they should be relevant for users. Also, it is not mandatory to put internal links on every artist page. To start with, we should work on the pages that receive higher traffic.
5. Can you have them look at the recent link profile and see if anything is harming the positions with what is done in house?
We perform a backlink audit for JLA website on a regular basis. the last backlink audit was done in May month only. We checked the recent backlink data (from after the recent backlink audit) and found some new URLs that look a little suspicious in nature. We will analyze these new ones and come back with an updated disavow file in a couple of days.
6. Is it a good idea to no-index the people with the highest bounce rates?
No, we don't think it would be a good idea. We are saying this based on the GA data, where it is evident that some of the artist pages (in spite of having high bounce rates) are driving users towards contact form submissions. (Please refer the attached screenshot).
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you
